The Basque Country is irrigated by a very dense hydraulic system as shown in the map reproduced here.
The entire Nive basin is managed by the Association des Propriétaires riverains de la Nive (A.P.R.N.) (Nive riverside owners’ association),
a registered association for the protection of nature and the environment. The A.P.R.N. head office is at the Louhossoa town hall (64250).
